So, you guys, Ya-Ya's shower was SO MUCH FUN! I was completely overwhelmed with happiness for her. Also completely bowled over by the excessive cuteness of the decorations from wonderful Jenny of Hank & Hunt (and Souris Mariage sponsor). You know how I have two left thumbs? Jenny sent things in individual Ziploc baggies--all I had to do was hang em up and scotch tape them to things! Tape and thumbtacks: now that, I can handle. Jenny sent the adorable yellow garlands, the "Best Wishes" pennant, and the cupcake flags. Another bridesmaid made the delicious cupcakes--24 of em!
I love the lemon-and-blue theme--it was perfect for a summertime patio shower. Mama Mouse even had a gorgeous yellow iris that cooperated. And can I just point out Ya-Ya's BITCHIN shoes in the background? Best "Something Blue" ever!

The bottle labels are also from Jenny, and her adorable idea. The left is lemon Italian soda--which was cute, but which nobody drank--and the right is prosecco, which was a more predictable hit.

More garlands, even better with sunshine! The peonies are from Mama Mouse's garden.
We ended up doing the games you guys suggested--the greatest moment was after the game where I asked the groom a list of twenty questions, and made Ya-Ya guess what he had answered. He gave several adorable answers (my favorite was the fact that his answer to "What's your favorite thing about Ya-Ya" was a paragraph long and had several sections!), and she was moved to tears. I had arranged for him to stop by and say hello with flowers--a tradition that's coming back, according to Martha--and it was such a sweet moment. They're so in love, and it was wonderful to see a little sliver of that at the shower! It's like a teaser for the wedding itself! Yay.
Stay tuned for favors, and for news about the bachelorette party!
